China Grants Visa-Free Entry to UK and Canada, Expanding List to 79 Countries

According to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, British and Canadian citizens can now enter China without a visa, increasing the total number of visa-free eligible countries to 79.

Under the updated policy, travelers may stay in China for up to 30 days for tourism, business, exchange visits, or to visit family and friends. The move is part of China’s continued efforts to facilitate international travel and strengthen global exchanges.

Over the past two years, China has significantly expanded its visa-free program. Most European countries are now included, along with selected nations in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

In addition, citizens from certain countries, including the United States and Indonesia, may enter China for up to 10 days under transit visa-free arrangements, provided they are traveling onward to a third country.

The simplified entry policy has been welcomed by business travelers and tourists, as traditional visa applications can require documentation and processing time.

For most participating countries, the current visa-free arrangement is set to remain in effect until the end of this year, with the possibility of future extension as previously implemented.

This visa-free entry policy is valid till December 31, 2026.
